Thank you for your interest in supporting our Fall House Build!
Underwood Properties, through The UP Mission & alongside Baja Bound, aims to end the cycle of generational poverty one family at a time. We do this by lifting families off dirt floors and placing them under wood roofs. We would love your help in doing so!
WANT TO JOIN THE TRIP?
Our goal is to have 15 participants on the project!
Your $350 minimum donation includes:
-Lodging at the Baja Bound beach house located in a safe, gated community along the Pacific Ocean beachfront
-Delicious (!!), home cooked meals for the duration of the trip. *If you have food restrictions, please let Lindsay know ASAP
What is already covered ($8,500):
-Construction materials, equipment, and every other needed element to build a 16 x 20 foot insulated home on a concrete slab
-Experienced staff that will provide logistics, set-up, coordination, guidance and interpreters
-Service opportunities at an orphanage, migrant camp & elderly care center
Never built a house before? No worries! There is an opportunity for everyone to contribute. Our onsite construction managers will guide & teach you everything you need to know. I promise you will leave feeling surprised & empowered by what you can do!
*You will be responsible for your flight to/from San Diego. Lindsay will coordinate vans & carpooling to/from there to Ensenada, just 70 miles south. If you'd like to enjoy San Diego either before or after, reach out to Lindsay directly regarding lodging options and scheduled activities!

What we're fundraising for:
While the cost of the house, concrete slab and on-site construction management is covered, there are a few other things we'd love to provide for the family.
$375 - 2 burner stove with gas line & 10kg gas tank
$425 - 100 gallon water tank with secure stand
$645 - 1 Double and 2 Twin Beds
$1650 - Small Solar Panel System
Our team will visit a migrant camp on this trip. The families in this camp have traveled primarily from Oaxaca and Chiapas in an effort to keep their families safe. They work in the fields making only $11-12 per day (when work is available). It's all they can do to provide for their family and save for a down payment on a plot of land. While in the camp, these families live in 4x6 windowless metal "stalls" with nothing but the clothes on their back and, more than likely, without shoes.
