Worthy Thirty: The J Builders
Home Build Fundraiser:
May 2-4, 2025
Hello everyone!
My name is Molly, and I live in sunny San Diego, CA. I was born and raised in the Philippines, where I grew up surrounded by a culture that values family, community, and the determination to work hard. Life there taught me the importance of looking out for one another—whether it was sharing meals with neighbors or lending a helping hand to those in need. Growing up, I had a deep desire to serve others, but I wasn’t sure how to turn that into something bigger. I just knew that kindness and compassion were meant to be lived out.
Over the years, that calling has become clearer. Moving to the U.S. opened new doors for me, and I’ve been blessed with opportunities to give back in ways I never imagined. My first mission trip was actually not something I looked for on my own—my mom was the one who asked me to come with her. Little did I know that saying yes to that trip would change everything. Not only did I get to serve and witness God’s love in action, but I also got to spend intentional quality time with my mom, something I deeply cherish. My mom is an incredible woman—she raised me as a single mother, making countless sacrifices to give me the best life she could. She has always led by example, showing me what it means to trust in God, to serve wholeheartedly, and to love others unconditionally. That first mission trip with her was just the beginning, and through it, God confirmed that this was a calling I was meant to pursue.
Since then, I’ve joined multiple mission trips, and each experience has shaped my faith, deepened my love for people, and affirmed that serving others isn’t just something I do—it’s a core part of who I am and how God designed me! The reward of obeying God in this calling has been so much more than I could have imagined. I’ve received an even deeper faith, a stronger relationship with Jesus, and a renewed sense of purpose—along with irreplaceable friends, a loving community, and unforgettable experiences! It’s such a beautiful reminder of how good God is! He truly rewards our obedience and faithfulness in following Him.
As I approach my 30th birthday, I can’t think of a better way to celebrate than by giving back and serving others. This year, I have the incredible opportunity to help build a home for a family in need in Ensenada, Mexico—a mission trip that has deeply shaped my heart for serving.
I’ve been blessed to participate in this mission trip three times already, and each experience has left a profound impact on me. One of the most unforgettable moments was meeting a little girl (pictured here) whose joy inspired me in ways I never expected. I went there to give, but in reality, I received even more.
Now, I get to return—not just to celebrate a milestone, but to be part of something life-changing once again.
This time, I’m making it even more special by gathering friends, including those I’ve served with on previous mission trips, as well as friends I’ve met and connected with through church after I got more plugged into my church community through these mission trips. Together, along with my family, we will celebrate by building a home for a family in need.
To make this possible, I am fundraising $8,500 to cover the construction cost of the home. Every donation—big or small—will go directly toward providing a family with shelter, security, and hope.
If you feel led to support this mission trip, I would be beyond grateful for your generosity and prayers! This birthday isn’t just about turning 30—it’s about making it Worthy Thirty by dedicating it to something bigger than myself.
Thank you for being part of this journey and helping make a lasting impact!
With love and gratitude,
Molly
