Baja Bound addresses the global migrant crisis by empowering groups to build homes in Mexico.
The Center for Student Action at Azusa Pacific University has designated Baja Bound as a new partner for student missions in Mexico.
APU’s history of service has been significant for decades. As Baja Bound’s Director John Rose stated, “Mexico Outreach had a phenomenal impact for over 50 years, and we are excited to be part of that legacy.” In 2019 Baja Bound assumed responsibility for APU’s Ensenada operations, and now they have been entrusted with additional Mexico trips for the University. “APU remains committed to service in Mexico,” assured Karen Rouggly of the Center for Student Action, “and we look forward to expanding our service opportunities…with Baja Bound.”
Former Mexico Outreach Team Member Heather (Richards) Tomscak, will lead the transition and onboarding of groups who are interested in serving with Baja Bound. If you are interested in partnering with Baja Bound, you may contact Heather at htomscak@bajabound.org.

Baja Bound works with both faith and business organizations to provide housing for working poor families in Baja. We happily partner with a group of mortgage and real estate professionals from Los Angeles who generously invest in helping families have a home.
Last weekend we arrived at the new worksite to discover a visibly pregnant mom anxiously waiting to move out of her shack and into her new home.
While dedicating the home on Sunday we all noticed mom was missing. Why? Dad proudly told us she was birthing her second child (daughter, perfect health) while we were dedicating their new home!
How wonderful that mom and child arrive back from hospital to a new home!
We are pleased to collaborate with some forward thinking groups as we build homes in Baja. This week our group chose to bless their family with a solar system. This will save the family a lot of money, and help our planet. We are inspired by the many ways our groups creatively serve the poor and needy of Baja, Mexico.
THIS SUMER WE HAVE WELCOMED GROUPS FROM CALIFORNIA, MICHIGAN, NEW YORK, OREGON, WASHINGTON, LOUISIANA, NEVADA, AND ARIZONA. We remain amazed at the compassion and care that all of our groups bring to the people of Baja.
